In 1996, Larry S. White and Anthony J. Stepp met and began discussing the need for improved service in the in-home care and assistance field in the Missouri Bootheel region. That’s when they decided to establish 1st Stepp Home Assistance.
From the beginning, 1st Stepp Home Assistance developed a commitment to provide clients with a personal relationship and professional assistance that allows them to retain their pride, dignity and self-respect, all while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.
In 2007, the owners of 1st Stepp Home Assistance saw the need to expand into the Consumer Directed Services program. They brought Jarred Yates on to start the program and have maintained a CDS division, as a sister company, since that time.
Over the years, 1st Stepp Home Assistance has grown to serve twenty-one Missouri counties and eleven West Tennessee counties, with offices in the cities of Caruthersville, Sikeston, Malden, Popular Bluff, MO and Dyersburg, TN.

I recommend 1st Stepp because of the professionals they have working for them. The professionals they have working for them are the absolute BEST! I have been a client for a while now. Beginning May 13th, 2019, I was recommended by other "associates". Fortunately, I listened! My current worker/friend is absolutely the most competent. She has literally become a very close friend, whom I have the utmost respect. She has gone "above & beyond the "call of duty" several times! She is punctual, respectful, and mostly, reliable. Always courteous. I thank God for her, and 1st Stepp! Thank you, Rachel and all the lovely ladies that make up this team.
They have good staff and they have one employee there that is really helpful at getting you what you need to get your loved ones taken care of. Thank you.
Most definitely nice people.
